Just kidding. Really, though, krabbypatty and I are looking for a third mod over at sga_elite. If you're interested, please feel free to PM me or krabbypatty or respond to this post. The mod's job is relatively simply -- respond to comm applicants by reviewing and critiquing their icons, and keeping the comm orderly if chaos breaks out -- which never happens.

I debated about making this post filtered, locked or unlocked, but in trying to be less of an enigma (as some of you have called me), I thought I'd keep it unfiltered and unlocked for the moment.

Real life, well, is kinda real at the moment. I think the one thing about being on LJ, DW and immersed in fandom and online conversation is that it can be a great distraction and an opportunity for some escapism. Most of you currently know me as a graphics person, and some of you know me as a writer of the past. Inspiration, present and past, comes a great deal from fandom, and at times, from moments in real life.

Well, I tell you, moments in real life are providing all the inspiration I need, good and bad. My father is not well, among other things on the personal front. My father hasn't been well for some time, but it just seems the older we get, the more we have to be okay with time marching on. Sounds depressing? Not really. I tend to be a practical kind of person, but it doesn't mean it's any less significant.

Along with other matters of the heart going on right now for me, I'm trying to travel more for leisure these days rather than work, and have spent spring and summer doing some of that. I've deliberately stepped back from my work (good thing I'm my own boss) to give myself a break. For those that have been with me on LJ for a few years, you'll know that this is a bit unusual. I think it's been a time of reflection -- and that's a good thing.

I suppose this was to be a bit of an explanation of my semi-absence from LJ, but I wanted to drop a line to say hello and let people know I'm kicking around!

I'm sure those on my flist who are interested in Dreamwidth have accounts or codes, but just in case, I have 2 DW codes available. Let me know if you're interested.

I had a request from a friend who asked me to put together a montage of sorts for a fic project she was doing. Nothing fancy, actually, just needed to work a bit to match the color tone for a bunch of differently colored pics she sent to me (AJ Cook, Ashley Scott, Sarah Shahi to name a few). However, she said she didn't mind if I posted it for the flist. Sharing this, not so much for the lack of artistic quality to this (she really didn't want fancy), but for the interesting cast. Hmmm... must be some fic project!

I'm hoping the flist can help. I'm looking at purchasing an eBook reader and am wondering if any of you have opinions on what I should purchase. I'm currently eying the Sony Reader, but am wary of Sony products. Any other suggestions?

Yup, it's been a long time since I've posted icons. It actually started out as a "self-project" -- that I wanted to make a couple of icons for my Dreamwidth account. Well, I got a little carried away...
